Hong Kong and Paris – so to make it easy when I go to Paris I have a stopover in Hong Kong to satisfy my love of both cities. Have lost track of my visits to Hong Kong – would have to be over 20!!!
As the resident person who gets “sea sick” I have seen almost every ship that has been in Sydney in the past 30 years when it has been docked! Have cruised on lots of river boats (my specialty as no movement!!!) in Europe, including APT, Uniworld, Tauck, Scenic.
I have cruised on most rivers in Europe – I do not actually have a favourite! Also my travels have seen me do wonderful river cruising itineraries in Myanmar, China on Yangtze River and in Russia. I have faced my fears of sea sickness, having had a bad crossing over 30 years ago on QE2 from Auckland to Sydney (any wonder I was sea sick??).
In recent years I have enjoyed a European sailing on Regent Seven Seas Explorer” with friends and I loved every minute and didn’t get sea sick! I have the name of some wonderful tablets purchased through compounding chemsits.
Always carry your phone charger in your hand luggage, as well as a change of underwear & top in your hand luggage for unexpected delays or red wine spills!
Jordan (in particular Petra), Cuba, Easter Island, Washington DC and Morocco.
Europe with a stopover in each direction to break the journey.
Tough decision between a Russian river cruise or Burma in November 2012, just as the country was really opening up to tourism.
Your travel insurance emergency contact in your phone and a note of the policy number. Also email a copy of your passport and important documents like your bank phone & account numbers coded in case they are lost and you need the details. Also carry a change of underwear & top in your hand luggage for unexpected delays or red wine spills!
Talia commenced working with us in August 2004.
Talia moved from the South Coast where she grew up and studied Travel & Tourism in Sydney and then worked in a retail franchise office in the city. A move to work closer to where she was living in Sydney appealed and she joined us. After 10 years and starting a family, Talia moved back down the South Coast and works 4 days a week remotely from home with us.
I love experiencing new places, new cultures & new styles of food! The only place I’ve been to more than once is Bali on our annual family holidays growing up. I’ll continue to keep trying new places on holidays & work trips too.
I love inspecting cruise ships but I love sailing on them more, most recently I’ve seen the Celebrity Solstice but prior to that here’s my list so far; P&O’s Oriana, Fred Olsen Line’s Balmoral, Regent Seven Seas – Navigator of the Seas, Radiance of the Seas.
I’m lucky enough to have seen all the Cunard Queens – QM2, Queen Victoria & Queen Elizabeth and prior to that the QE2, Diamond & Dawn & Pacific Princess, Oceania’s Nautica & Marina, P&O’s Pacific Jewel, Carnival Spirit, Holland America Line Veendam.
Don’t put your trips off! You never know what’s around the corner
Antarctica, Alaska, Peru, Galapagos, Southern Caribbean.
South America.
I recently went to Hawaii for my first time it was going to me memorable as we were staying between the iconic hotels – Halekulani & Royal Hawaiian, it became most memorable as I came home engaged!
I often forget things when travelling but I never leave home without my camera + battery charger, travel insurance and money – you can buy anything else along the way
Jenny commenced working with us on September 2004.
Jenny started in the industry after school and had a 10 year career with Ansett before leaving to travel around Australia for a year. On re entry into the industry Jenny decided she would like to move into retail travel, liking the idea of working with clients face to face. After several years in retail travel and starting her family Jenny joined the agency as it was closer to home. Jenny works 4 days a week.

After decades of owning and managing a large, high profile leisure travel agency in Melbourne, Anne sold the business in 2017, and these days enjoys designing and hosting (with Barry), Ramsgate Travel’s popular range of small group journeys.
I am unable to choose between Japan and France. Barry and I frequently visit both – either at work as Tour Hosts, or holidaying privately. Unusually, my most visit remains Myanmar (Burma) which I visited at least 15 times, before it became (and remains) too difficult to do so. My heart aches for that wonderful country which I came to know well and loveWe also love to cruise and, at last count, Anne had enjoyed well over 40 cruises – river, expedition and ocean. My particular travel passion is hotels. I love them and, after a career of several decades, and countless opportunities to either inspect and/or stay in some of the world’s finest properties, I consider myself something of an expert – certainly a connoisseur. I spend a great deal of time choosing our tour hotels in order to surprise and delight our guests.
Leave your valuables securely at home. Don’t travel with anything you can’t afford to lose, or would be devastated to do so.
Bhutan, The Arctic, The “Stans” , with return visits to India and Sri Lanka also high on the list.
Definitely one (or several!) of the Burma trips circa 2002/3.
A phone (which you are proficient at using!), chargers, and any batteries you may need. Travel insurance.
